abstract

The abundance of the species, according to literature data, varies from 0.13 to 3.65 individuals per hectare. On our experimental plots, the abundance was 2.9 to 7.2 individuals per hectare. The species high abundance can be explained by the small area of experimental plots in biotopes that are suitable for the thick-tailed three-toed jerboa. The main threat for the species is the loss of its habitat.
